Jon grew up in California, made his way to the beautiful northeast to Connecticut and is currently living in New York City. His passions for STEM education, healthcare, and climbing has taken him to areas all over the world.  He has helped bolt routes with the local climbing community in Madeira, climbed on the salty seaside cliffs of Aruba, but ultimately, he considers the Gunks his home crag.

While in graduate school, Jon was the head coach of the Rock City Crew youth climbing team in New Haven, CT for 4 years. While the team focused on climbing, Jon’s goal was to encourage an environment for youth that also promoted STEM education. Currently, a large focus of his is to provide training strategies for people with extremely limited time in their work and life schedules. Follow his Training @jjxumo on instagram.
